Freedom - The longest detour to Success?!

Image
The qualities and skills required to achieve your goals have been thought upon and listed down for centuries in so many forms. While there are many key habits and characteristics such as discipline, hard work, resilience, never giving up, learning from failures, time management, that are spoken about to be indispensable to achieve success,   one of my favorite idea to ponder upon has been the contribution and role of freedom in the path to success. Particularly, how freedom in our life can lead us away from success if not handled prudently. Freedom, which by virtue seems a very good and noble thing to have, can be one of the worst ingredient you can add in your recipe of success. Freedom is ironically one of the toughest shackles. Let us then understand it deeper and break it. When we separately list down the actual achievements of our life versus the goals which we are still in our to do list, we will notice that most of our achievements will be of the nature where timelines wer...

IN SEARCH OF GOD

Image
This is a very short and sweet piece written by me during the most inquisitive period of human's life - teenage. I still read this and try to comprehend it in totality. Have a nice read...                                         One day a young boy, like every other boy, got curious about a question, of which many in the world are curious:- Where is God? He had heard answers many times but like every other boy, he was also not satisfied. His inquisitive mind started searching.                                 Now, wherever he saw a place of worship he went there. He asked his questions to the preachers and sought...

Nature's Language

Image
It talks to us with the impeccable thing Which is a genesis of communication, the feeling It generates the feeling by the music it has, By the rhythm it has, by its instruments I guess   A drop in my palm, the beauty of the rain, A drop on my head, the heat, the pain A rise of the orange, the hope of a better day, A looming of the black, the despair of making hay   A breeze during a walk, the softening of the worries A silence before its anger, a metaphor to breakdown of glories A red circle between the blues, a pleasure’s abyss and tranquility’s crevasse A wind in the solitary sands, the subtlety of lonely happiness   The steady gleaming of twinkles above, the exquisiteness of childhood bliss The overflow of its seasonal changing moods, adversity escorted by devil’s kiss The magnanimity of its forgiveness, the reason for survival of its dependants The timely display of its fury, reminding us of being forever its tenants   The ...

What we believe in, is what we live in

Image
The sun neither rises nor sets, it is the earth which rotates but still we start our days calling the dawn, a sunrise and end the day with what we call a sunset. The way we believe things is because of the way we get to see them. The way in which we live our life depends on the facts we believe in.             In the times when the fact about the earth not being the centre of the universe was not known, people believed the earth as the centre, formed theories and untrue facts and strived to solve mysteries with their aid; only to die and never know that they were headed towards the wrong way. Now in the modern age we boast of having more and truer knowledge than the people of historic times but it may so be the reality that we too are believing in the wrong facts and are headed the wrong way. The complexity is that we don’t know how true the truth is.             Modern worl...

Childhood to Adulthood

Image
"Childhood days were the happiest" is one of the most common phrase heard during day to day conversations of adults trying to move forward and live their life through the wheels of memories, experiences and learning. Maybe, it is because how perfect we are born and how imperfect we become while growing up and passing through the realities of the world. A short piece of writing describing this journey with hope that we can beam like babies and children again... From childhood to adulthood I have learnt many things. Parents, teachers, adults, elders, and many others taught me many things and I have transformed to an adult from child. Learned, is what I assumed myself until I understood that I am not. It was then when I saw a child and he smiled blissfully at me, While I was still finding a reason to smile. Then I thought why it is so, and after pondering I learnt what I knew when I was a child and what I learnt while I became an adult. When I was a child, I never di...

Procrastination – An Other Explanation.

Image
There are very few people around who have the ability to snooze their alarm while in deep sleep in the morning and wake up completely after the next five minutes when the alarm rings again. Most of us would do two things – either snooze the alarm again or let the alarm keep ringing until the alarm gets tired and it itself surrenders and sleeps along with us. This was just an incidence from our daily life where we delay something as we think that some other thing is more important than this one. Many a times in our day to day life we face such circumstances, they may be small may be grave, where we delay one thing for another. We postpone, we procrastinate. It is said, “Procrastination is the thief of time.” It’s true, but it doesn’t satisfy me. I keep pondering upon the question whether we can actually do all the important works at the same time. I think not. And that is why we postpone some things so that we can do the other one. For that we give priority to one over the ...

Choices - The Deciders of Our Future

Image
There was a boy who, during his college days, chose to drop out of the college and join some creative classes. A very tough choice to make indeed if one wants to have a stable life. At a tender age of 21, he along with his guru Steve Wozniak started, what now is one of the world’s most admired companies, ‘Apple Computers’. And now I don’t need to name the person I am talking about for his work speaks more than he can do of himself. The point which I want to mention is that a choice taken by a single person out of the five billion people living in the world has made such a difference in the world that the world is still walking on the road chosen by him even after he is no more to show us the direction.           Steve Jobs was himself a believer in the power of choices. He always tried to connect the dots. When at the age of 30, he was fired from the company he created; Jobs found himself unemployed but he chose it a...
